LEAD Learning

The technological revolution has established a growing gap between what is taught in schools and what is required in adulthood.

By 2030, half of all young people in the world – about 825 million – will lack the most basic skills necessary to participate in the workforce.

We need a radical rethinking of education, and situated firmly at the center of any new education model must be the skills required to thrive in the 21st century: critical thinking, problem solving, emotional intelligence, social skills – in short, leadership.

LEAD Learning was founded in April 2020 to address this gap. As COVID-19 brought the world to a standstill, we realized that the double disruption of COVID-19 and automation would change the world forever, and we began to design for a new world – one where creativity, flexibility, and resilience would reign supreme.

We adapted the leadership course taught at our Liberian and Moroccan Hubs since 2015 to meet the needs of the world’s youth more broadly, focusing our lessons on innovation, empathy, perseverance, and more.

Today, LEAD Learning has delivered its flagship leadership course to more than 133,000 children in Liberia, Morocco, and Bangladesh through a combination of in-person delivery and low-cost mobile technology. As we build additional relevant curricula, we are simultaneously preparing to scale the program in partnership with global corporations, place-based organizations, and school districts.

Through LEAD Learning, we will create a new generation of skilled, empathetic, and ethical leaders equipped with the tools required to solve the world’s greatest challenges.

Our Content

Our leadership course introduces young people to a core set of universal values, qualities, and skills by using basic definitions, case studies, interactive activities, and take-home assignments. Through country-specific examples of great leaders, the course teaches positive life skills and inspires children to dream big.

For an initial introduction to our content, here are the worksheets for the first lesson. *Note – the linked worksheets are specifically designed for the Liberian context.
